Never speak to a MN bk law firm that has you meet with paralegals

Never speak to paralegals about bankruptcy. Why? Because as prospects- you want to know 3 things. 1) you want legal advice as to whether you should file bankruptcy and which chapter you should file. 2) you want to know the fees. and 3) you want to know if they are willing to take your case. The problem is paralegals cannot give you 1) legal advice, 2) quote you fees, or 3) retain you as a client- only licensed MN lawyers can do any of these three. If you have met with a paralegal who gave you legal, advice, quoted you fees, and retained you as a client, immediately file a police report against the paralegal and law firm as this is illegal in Minnesota. You should also file a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and an ethics complaint with the Minnesota Board of Professional Responsibility, At Kain & Scott, we like our guests. We only have meetings between licensed and local MN bk attorneys, never paralegals.
