When people ask me why I became a MN Bankruptcy Attorney, my oversimplified answer is always “Because I like helping people.” I began practicing bankruptcy in the Fall of 2008 and one thing became immediately clear, I knew that I was helping my clients and I enjoyed it. Through my bankruptcy practice, I have helped hundreds of clients—individuals, families, and business owners—take back financial control of their lives and get the fresh start that bankruptcy offers. Bankruptcy is important to me because I believe that it gives hope to those who are struggling that they can truly get a fresh start and change the trajectory of their lives.
I have personally had relatives, friends, and neighbors who have endured financial struggles and sought the protection from creditors that bankruptcy affords. I have also experienced events in my life that could very well have resulted in pursuing that same protection, including job loss and sudden illness and hospitalization. Every time I meet with a new client, I think about how I would have wanted those friends, relatives, and neighbors to be treated while they were going through their bankruptcy, or how I would want to be treated, and I treat my clients in that way—with kindness, dignity, respect, and empathy.
What I love about LifeBack Law Firm is that, as a whole, our firm treats our clients how I have been treating them for my entire career. Helping our clients without judging them, and understanding that they are courageous and of the utmost importance is the bedrock of our practice. I am honored to be a part of the LifeBack Law Firm team and to be able to help my clients get the fresh start that bankruptcy promises.
I was born and raised outside of Eveleth, MN (on the Iron Range) by my mother Cheryl, a CPA, and my father Paul, a heavy equipment mechanic in the mines. My upbringing instilled in me the values of hard work, common sense, and community, which continue to inform both my life and my practice daily. I moved to the Twin Cities to attend college in the Fall of 2000 and have lived down here ever since. I currently live in Fridley with my wife, Mary, our children, Jacob, Thomas, and Elizabeth, and our yellow labs, Bella and Sadie. Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, curling, and am a huge sports fan.
